Happy New Year, friends! After a much-needed vacation, it’s back to reality for me today, and it’s hard to believe we’ve already kickstarted 2022. I, like many of us, am so excited to flip the page to this new (and hopefully, maybe, possibly more normal) chapter, and have already established plenty of hopes and dreams for the next twelve months. But as we head into this new year, let’s not forget to look back on all that we accomplished last year, too.
I came across a list of my 2021 goals in an old journal recently, and was honestly blown away by the amount of things I now take for granted that once seemed so unattainable to me. Getting a new job, launching the Sunshine Collection, and finding my dream apartment with friends had all seemed like day dreams at the beginning of the year, and I’ve barely stopped to take the time to appreciate that they actually came true! Even if it didn’t feel like your best year, you’ve most likely accomplished more than you’re giving yourself credit for, too. So I just wanted to take a quick moment to congratulate us all on how far we’ve come!
Now let’s take a look at the year to come – I’m all about fresh starts, and am hoping to use this one as a chance to be more mindful in several areas that I feel like I may have overlooked in the past few months. My 2022 goals include reading at least one book per month (perhaps even 22 by the end of the year), running another half marathon, spending less time on my phone, creating a budget that I actually stick to, making a difference in my community, being more environmentally conscious, and getting some sort of movement in every day. I’m also planning on sharing more of my day-to-day activities that help me accomplish these goals, and I hope it can help push all of us continue to reach for our dreams!
So here’s to 2022 – whatever your goals, big or small, for this year, let’s make it the best one yet. ☼
