Picture this: The air is crisp. The lights are dim. Your room is clean, and your favorite candle is filling the room with all the right smells. You’re wrapped in your best fuzzy blanket and rocking your slippers. What else would make this image complete – a glass of wine, a good book, your new TV obsession, or a face mask? A call to someone you’re missing, perhaps?
Whatever that ideal setting is for you, let’s make it happen on this fine Sunday! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – these days, Sundays are by far my favorite day of the week. It’s a day without the pressure of responsibilities OR the need to fill your day with fun activities. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be productive or have a good time. Whatever you need, you have the potential to make this Sunday the best day of the week.
I’m all about self-care Sundays – and while that self-care looks different for everyone, the impact is the same. Some weeks, it might be time to run all those errands you’ve been putting off, or do your favorite workout, and others, it might be the perfect day to spend the entire day in bed. Regardless, dedicating a day to doing exactly what’s going to make you happy can set the tone for the entire week.
For me, today featured a leisurely stroll around my neighborhood, an iced latte from my favorite coffee shop, a much-needed trip to the grocery store, and some baking, finished off with an episode of my favorite show (Gilmore Girls, anyone?), and an early bedtime. And last Sunday? I don’t think I left the couch for 12 hours. In both cases, it was exactly the day I needed, and helped me to hop into my Monday well-rested and ready for a productive week.
