I don’t know about you, but at just about 8pm on the dot every night, my craving for a little sweet treat takes over. I’m just a girl who loves her chocolate after all, but I love to find ways to satisfy that craving in ways that are better for my body, too. So I’m here to offer a few health(ier) dessert ideas that taste great!
While nothing can really beat my mom’s jumbo chocolate chip cookies, I’ve taste-tested LOTS of recipes with more natural ingredients that are more fit for a daily indulgence, and voila – I’m here to offer three of my favorites that you can enjoy all week long, without even having to put a thing in the oven!
Luckily for us, these sweet treats use a lot of the same ingredients, and can be ready in less than an hour. Trust me on this one – with tasteful hints of dark chocolate, peanut butter and maple syrup across the board, you really can’t go wrong with any of the options below.
So without further ado, here’s your no-bake recipe round up:
1. Healthy No-bake Cookies. I actually like these a lot better than traditional no-bakes, and I LOVE that they can be ready in 20 minutes or less.
What you’ll need: Peanut Butter, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Powder, Honey, Oats, Shredded Coconut
What to do: Mix PB, Coconut Oil and Honey together on stove, then add Cocoa Powder, Oats and Shredded Coconut. Stir until well combined, place in balls on pan lined with parchment paper, and freeze ~20 minutes. That’s it!
2. PB Chocolate Banana Bites. I’m a firm believer that there’s no better combo than peanut butter and banana – except maybe when you toss chocolate into the mix. These little bites are the perfect semi-sweet snack, whether you need an afternoon pick-me-up or an after-dinner treat.
What you’ll need: 3 Bananas, Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate, Coconut Oil
What to do: Slice Bananas, placing half along a pan lined with parchment paper. Add peanut butter and top with the other banana slices. Freeze for 1 hour, then melt dark chocolate with coconut oil, dip and freeze again! After another hour they’ll be ready for allll the snacking.
3. Peanut Butter Cookie Bars. They’re easy, they’re quick, and they taste like peanut butter fudge. You know what to do.
What you’ll need: Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate, Coconut Oil, Maple Syrup, Almond Flour, Protein Powder, Vanilla, Salt
What to do: Combine Peanut Butter, Syrup, Salt and Vanilla in bowl, then add the dry ingredients. Knead together with hands, then press onto a pan lined with parchment paper. Freeze 10 minutes while melting dark chocolate and coconut oil, then top with the mixture. Freeze another 10 and enjoy!
With such simple, similar ingredients it honestly might be worth making all of the above – I promise they won’t disappoint. And if you’re feeling like firing up the oven for another tasty treat, might I recommend the world’s best banana bread?! Happy baking! ☼
