Happy February, friends! Despite the cold weather, I personally love February. It marks a month of celebrations and love, and no matter what season of life I’m in, it never fails to make my heart feel full. Naturally this makes sense given that it’s my birthday month, but I love it for other reasons – it’s an excuse to get together with my favorite people, celebrate love, and also focus on SELF love, which is so important. There’s no better time than this cozy month to really focus on pouring back into our own cup and treating ourselves to things that bring us joy. So I’d like to challenge us all to dedicate some time this month to a lil’ self love, and I’m here to provide a few ideas for how!
Set the mood. Light a candle and read a book, take a bath, whatever you need – a lil’ ambience goes a long way in romanticizing the everyday.
Treat yourself. I am the biggest advocate of a daily little sweet treat, and truly believe that it makes life a whole lot sweeter! Grab yourself a latte or a delicious pastry, because you deserve it.
Buy yourself a gift. You deserve that special something you’ve been dreaming of this year. If you needed that last dose of encouragement, here it is.
Do something that makes your body feel good. Some yoga, perhaps, or a nice hot girl walk outside. I’ve been leaning into more low impact movement this year and I never regret mixing in a lil’ activity.
Write down what you’re proud of. You’ll be surprised at how many things will make the list. Being reminded how great you are is an immediate mood booster, am I right?
Spend time with people who make your heart feel full. There are certain people who just make things better, who make you feel loved and appreciated – and THOSE are the relationships worth our time and energy!
Watch your favorite feel-good movie. The Proposal, anyone?
Get cozy. Take an everything shower, do some skincare, and put on your comfiest sweat set. There’s nothing better than feeling like your smoothest, softest and cleanest self before you cozy up for the night.
Cook your favorite meal or bake your favorite dessert. For me, that’s pasta and chocolate chip cookies. Again, we’re treating ourselves!
Order a fun cocktail or mocktail – or make one at home. Cheers to YOU, my friend.
Celebrate galentines with your besties. There’s no better time to show how much you appreciate them and spread the love!
Here’s to making the little things in life a celebration – and to treating ourselves to the best versions of us. As the prophet Miley Cyrus says, I can buy myself flowers – and so can we. I hope you’re feeling the love this month! ☼
