Hello friends! Long time no chat! I’ll be honest, with my favorite time of year in full swing, I’ve been busy taking advantage of all that a New England summer has to offer. I’ve been bopping all over, from the Cape to Nantucket to Rhode Island and back, and while it’s been so much fun, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a little run down from it all. We all know that I love Sundays, so I’ve decided to treat myself to one filled with all of my favorite things to help reset, and I thought I would document it!
So without further ado, here’s how to have the best Sunday ever. Picture this:
You wake up finally feeling fully rested after a weekend jam-packed with activities. You don’t have an alarm to snooze, so you can just enjoy laying in bed for a while. I’ll save myself the embarrassment of telling you exactly what time I got up, but let’s just say it was certainly in the double digits, and I’ve never felt better.
Now that we’re up, we can see that it’s a beautiful mid-summer day. The sun in shining, the birds are chirping… it’s a great day to have a great day! There’s only one thing to do – take a lovely little stroll over to your favorite coffee shop – for me, that’s American Provisions – and order an extra large dose of delicious caffeine to start the day out right.
Now it wouldn’t be a great day without a lil’ SUNSHINE, so it’s time to get outside! I’m currently drafting this from my roof, soaking up some rays while I enjoy my aforementioned cold brew.
Next up, it’s time to get some movement in. This can be anything that makes your body happy, but my personal favorite is taking a trip to Seaport – bonus points if you’re there early to do some shopping at the Summer Market – for a C2 class at CorePower. There’s nothing better than a mindful reset while you sweat out all the weekends’ activities!
Once you’ve finished, it’s time to take a trip to the holy land, AKA Trader Joe’s. Any other grocery store you love works too, but truly nothing makes me happier than strolling through those aisles and stocking up on everything from unexpected cheddar to dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Grab what you need to make some great meals this week, and grab some fun stuff too.
Now we can head home and take THE shower. I always emerge from these feeling like a new woman, and I might even partake in some skincare or a face mask to round it out too.
Next on the list is the best part of the day in my humble opinion, dinner time! Let’s chef up a delicious healthy meal to close out the week. Today I’m doing an asparagus orzo pasta salad with shrimp on the side and I can’t wait to dig in.
Now as our perfect day comes to a close, there’s no better time to take a walk to watch the sunset. Bonus points if you grab some ice cream on the way – I just might have to!
And of course, a great day ends with getting some great sleep again. Get in bed early, grab a book, and do some reading. If all goes as planned, we’ll wake up ready to conquer our Mondays too. ☼
